polymer clay show and tell: chicken and waffles

The phrase chicken and waffles just makes me laugh. So here's the next installment of you can make anything with polymer clay!

shows are never how you remember them

Sports Night - about halfway through. Not at all like I remember it - way more serious. I like it.

Lost - killer first season! Looking forward to watching the rest. So far I adore Sawyer, Jack and Sayid.

Avatar - finally saw it. Wow! So incredibly beautiful. Would have preferred 45 minutes shorter and a bit less violence. But still, absolutely brilliant. Wow.

Fame - Wow. Lamest movie I've seen in a long time. Weird, since there were so many fabulous people in it. But... no plot, no good dancing, no exciting singing. All around lame lame lame.

Survivor - Again, I say, wow. Seriously, Russell just comes out on top time after time. How does that little twerp manage it? How? Wow.

Am seriously considering laying off the TV-watching in favor of writing some music. Hmmmm.

polymer clay show and tell: no theme - I just want these!

This technique is awesome! How did she do that?!

Look how the head moves! Brilliant!

Ouija boards are cool. Tiny things are cool. Mix them and you get ubercool :)

I so want these. Really truly. Hey, mom! I want these...

so many concerts

Survived conducting 3 concerts this weekend. 3 more rehearsals and 2 more performances to go before a break.

Went to the Lancaster Symphony last night. Their woodwind section is brilliant. Front row mezzanine seats are perfect at the Fulton.

It's Monday! That means Chuck! And Castle! Yay!

Still watching Thirtysomething. It took me longer than it should have to realize that netflix has them in the wrong order. (Or maybe they aired that way? I have no idea.) But when there was a Gary episode after Gary was killed, I finally caught on. I'm starting to get attached to this show. It gets more interesting in the last seasons. It's also skipping episodes, so I might have to break down and buy it or at least rent it for real instead of watching online to see the whole story in order.

Looking at music for future concerts - want to do major works, or at least minor major works. Want to forget about the existence of Broadway for a few minutes...

quotations, anyone?

When you read online forums, you find some funny, funny stuff.
-----------------

Someone please explain this to me in lame man's terms.
Seriously?

Happy Thanksgiving to all those south of the boarder!
So greetings for just the basement dwellers then? What floor does the boarder live on?

I believe Integrity is the #1 quality next to honesty.
Exactly. And on a scale of one to ten, this statement is pretty much nonsense.

May I suggest a Mommy and Me duel teaching session?
Imagine it - the little tykes with their adorable little swords...

I don't mean to be rude, I just know that the delicatessens she offers most likely have been in the fridge for weeks...
Probably, but a delicatessen stays fresh pretty long, right?

I’m not saying that all Etsy photographers are armatures, but some of the photos definitely look like stock photography.
Cover them with clay, or even paper mache. They'll be fine.

We are a strong and creative bunch and much to be reconciled with...
Right then. This may be irreconcilable.

If your gonna scam me, at least spell it right. To funny.
Dear pott, meet ketle.

You darn Canadians! sticking your noises in where they don't belong! I mean, really, just because we share a HUGE boarder, you think you have the right?!
Again with the boarder! How big do you suppose this guy is? Big enough to need two countries? Just get some earplugs, man.

polymer clay show and tell: faces!

There are so many ways to make faces with polymer clay - hand-sculpted, with a mold, cane work, stamped, painted...

Marcia is one of my very favorite etsy artists!

Amazing detail!

So adorable! I love the hair.

This one has so much personality. I love the juxtaposition of shapes here.

it's all about Jim

I've finished Season 5 of The Office. Season 6 is on TV now, but near the end, I think, so I'll probably just wait until it shows up on netflix. Dwight stays hilarious. Jim stays awesome. And I've developed quite the fondness for Toby. He's just so pathetic. I can relate some days.

Smallville - I'm not jumping up and down, but it's fun to watch. Haven't really gotten attached to any of the characters yet, except Lex a bit. I've realized that I don't like the music - the theme song doesn't seem to fit to me, and the music in the episodes in general is not my taste. Which... duh.

The 3rd and 4th seasons of thirtysomething are now available on netflix. I've watched a few more episodes. I still really only care about Elliott and Nancy, and my extreme dislike for Hope just grows. What an irritating character. Ugh.

I found my copy of The Mists of Avalon, whew! I will now embark on what is probably my 12th or 13th reading. Or 20th. I have no idea, actually.

I haven't been to the comic book store in ages! Must go get Buffy and Angel comics. This is my favorite cover so far:

polymer clay show and tell: rainbows!

No Thursday blog ring going on today, so I'll do the polymer clay show and tell I skipped on Tuesday. And it's gonna be.... Rainbows! I love rainbows, but I have this weird pet peeve about people calling things rainbow that are actually just multi-colored. ROYGBIV = rainbow. Buncha mixy-up color not = rainbow. Yes, I know, I have issues. Anyway, on to the polymer clay rainbow goodness.

Wow! There's a lot of cool polymer clay rainbow stuff on etsy. I might need a second installment...
