must have tv
Double post today because this simply could not wait. There are no words for how much I want this item.
Seriously, people, it's Jim and Pam magnetic paper dolls. I so want these. Actually, MellMo's whole shop is coveted by me. And also, now I want to make paper dolls. Someone get me a scissors.

spices
I want this.
I so very muchly desire a spice rack of some sort to replace the piles of mismatched shapes and sizes and expiration dates currently residing in 3 separate cupboards.
This one from the Lovely Little Wood Company is made of awesome - what a cool idea! There is nothing that cannot be made cooler by the use of magnets. (Conversely, there is nothing that cannot be made even worse by adding whistling. Remember that.)

I'd like to win it
EART is having an Easter egg hunt, and each participating shop is giving away a prize. The prizes are cool, and our Thursday topic this week is which prize would you choose? If I were hunting, I think I would want this adorable hair clip by punkynmunky. I love hair clips. I have polymer clay ones, felted ones, and ones that other people think are funny looking. I don't think anyone would laugh at this calla lily clip, though - what a pretty and clever design!

polymer clay show and tell: earrings
I love earrings. I'm always wanting to buy them. Unfortunately, my skin reacts to pretty much any earrings I've ever worn, but I can usually manage a few hours of wearing them at least. Polymer clay is a great medium for earrings because it's so lightweight - you can go large and still be able to hold your head up.
What a fabulous idea!
-------------
I love anything citrus, especially oranges. These are adorable!
-----------------
Two more of my favorite things - rainbows and cake!
-----------------
Polymer clay elegance - cool!
----------
Hehe, it only took me two pages of etsy search to find lots of earrings I love.

Michelles Charm World
My friend Michelle from the EART etsy team makes funky, chunky jewelry out of all sorts of crazy stuff - legos, barbie shoes, food miniatures... all colorful and fun. Her shop is called MichellesCharmWorld.
Right now she's having a give-away for a $15 gift certificate, and all you have to do is comment on this blog post.
My favorites of hers are the button bracelets, like this one:
I also really dig the Alice in Wonderland ring:
Good luck with your give-away, Michelle!

Thursday EART blog ring: favorite etsy shops
The topic of the EART Thursday blog ring this week is Your Favorite Etsy Shops.
There are hundreds of etsy sellers and shops that I absolutely love, so I'm just going to share the ones I actually own stuff from.
I actually have the original of this one, and I love it.
Why do I love Shellie? She's just such a sweet, lovable person!
Why do I love this shop? I love the medium - it's fabric on wood, which is so unique and cool. I also love the use of color. I love brights! This art is all so joyful, and I love that!

#2 Cidtalk
I've got several prints from this shop and have given several away as gifts.
Why do I love Cindy? She's refreshing down-to-earth and wise - a very cool person.
Why do I love this shop? This black and white art is awesome. Her drawing is so organic and a little wacky here and there. It's like fantasy art without the schmaltz. Just makes me happy.

I get soap here all the time.
Why do I love Pam? She's become a very successful and busy seller, yet she still pays personal attention and obviously appreciates her customers.
Why do I love this shop? This soap is amazing. The presentation is excellent, the packaging is nice (which is important for soap - a bar of soap in an envelope tends to be gross upon arrival), and the scents are amazing! My favorites are cherry freeze, desert sage, dragon's blood, peaches and cream, orange blossom, lemon frosting, pink grapefruit & mint, and sweetgrass. I'll be trying more scents soon - can't really help myself...

A few more shops I love love love:
AWEshop - amazing metalwork jewelry
marciapalmer - polymer clay in earthtones
jellybeans - light rainbow-y watercolors

had to share
Sometimes you come across an artist that makes you so happy that you can't resist sharing! This is the work of Tenika of Velvet Morning on etsy.
She makes collages in several layers, including antique handwritten letters and texts, ephemera, textures, vintage portraits, acetate, photography, digital effects, etc. She often uses a travel theme, which is partly why it feels like the woman in each piece has her own story. These pieces inspire me to want to write stories. But alas, I'm no good at that, so I'll just admire.
The shop has ACEOs (which are little playing-card-sized bits of art) as well as prints in larger sizes. I definitely want to add at least one (OK, 20) of these pieces to my etsy art collection, but I'm having trouble deciding which!
Visit her shop and take your time. Each piece is an amazing work of art.

new art for me - yay!
One of the cool things about selling/shopping online at places like etsy is that you get to meet some cool people who make art. I made a trade recently - some polymer clay goodies for this wonderful print by justgivemepeace. I absolutely adore it, can't wait to frame and hang.

goin' green
After all the St. Paddy's hoohah, I was thinking about green and went looking for inspiration on etsy, of course. Here's what I found - green mosaics by pcagoe member, juliespace.
Julie is the master of mosaic. I love how she fits all the pieces in just right. Also, I'm a big lover of gingko leaves, so this one really caught my eye.

Plus, the pieces in her mosaics are handmade from polymer clay. Wow - the hours these must take to create!
I love the idea of a wearable mosaic, too.

just give me peace
I've found another favorite etsy artist. Justgivemepeace creates wonderful, colorful hippie art -- images of women and peace symbols, all in rich detail. In her shop, she has originals, prints, cards, ACEOS, and some other fun stuff, like a checkers set. And each listing has a sweet poem of peace in the description. Groovy!

faces by cidtalk
I finally framed and hung these faces by my etsy friend Cindy of cidtalk. Aren't they fabulous? You can't really tell in this photo, but the paper behind the photos is embossed scrapbooking paper, which is a really pretty effect.
