chocolate banana peanut smoothie recipe

I didn't take a photo of this one - picture light brown in a cup :) Measurements are a guess - I didn't actually measure anything. No dairy, no gluten, no sugar.

Ice - about half a blender full
Coconut milk - one can
Banana - one
Peanuts - a handful, maybe half a cup
Cocoa Powder - probably 2 to 3 tablespoons
Agave Syrup - approximately a tablespoon

Blend the heck out of it. I turned the superduper BlendTech up to seven to make it smooth - otherwise the peanuts stay a bit gritty.

soup!

This was really random, but turned out really tasty.

2 onions and 2 cloves of garlic fried in olive oil
1 can coconut milk
green beans, peas and corn (I used frozen - I'm lazy)
1 can kidney beans
1 bag of microwaved rice (I'm not kidding - I'm really lazy)
3 fresh tomatoes (because they seem to be multiplying)
a couple of cups of water, boiled heartily first since this town's water happens to contain e coli this week...
spices: sea salt, pepper, basil, dry mustard

back to school

We're having a little blog-a-thon at EART this lovely Thursday, and the topic is back to school. Well, first of all, I'd like to go back to school! Art school, music school, teaching school... I'm not fussy. But, yeah, OK, that's really not practical right now. So how am I thinking about back to school? Well, hopefully my voice and piano students are all coming back and getting serious. Well, maybe not too serious, but schedules are smoother once the school year begins. I'm a little melancholy this time around, having done some teaching this summer and feeling a bit of missing the planning and excitement of starting a new year of teaching. But honestly, I don't think I'd have the stamina to survive a week at this point in my life!

So, what have I got in my etsy shop for back to school?
Photo frame to hold the precious memory of the first day of school.

Wear a little bit of summer into the new school year.
And, you gotta know what time it is to get to school on time, right?

I read a book

LOL, yep, I read a book. I feel like my reading time has been seriously lacking lately.
It was a lovely story, devourable writing. But it made me very, very sad, as books about religion and it's inevitable leading to violence tend to do.
